“Beacon Heights Verified” means:

A lot marked with our program has been: visited by our team during harvest, processed under our protocols, and comes from a farmer group that received training that year.

At Origin With Farmers

Beacon Heights Coffee doesn’t buy from middlemen. We buy from people we know.
Our team is on the ground in Kagera and Mbinga throughout the year, working directly with AMCOS, estates, and smallholder farmers. Here’s what that looks like:

Farm Visits: Where Quality Starts

We visit farms and washing stations every harvest to do 3 things:

What We Do

Why It Matters to You

Cherry Selection Training

Ripe cherry = sweet, clean cup. We train pickers to avoid under-ripe and over-ripe. Result: fewer defects in your lot.

Post-Harvest Monitoring

We check fermentation times and drying beds. Prevents “onion” or “vinegar” defects that ruin containers.

Lot Separation

We identify 87+ potential micro-lots in Mbinga before they’re blended away. That’s how you get access to Tanzania’s best.

Kagera Example: In Bukoba, our field officer visits 20+ AMCOS weekly Oct–Jan. We tag “Beacon Heights Select” drums at the washing station so we can trace your Robusta back to the exact group.

Mbinga Example: In Ruvuma, we cup on-site with producer groups. If a lot scores 86+, we contract it immediately and fund raised-bed upgrades so the next crop is even better.

2. Farmer Education: Investing in Next Year’s Crop

Buying coffee is short-term. Training farmers is how we guarantee your supply for the next 10 years.

Our Training Programs:

  1. Good Agricultural Practices – Kagera
Focus: Robusta & Hard Bean Arabica
Topics: Shade management, stumping old trees, organic composting, pest control without banned chemicals
Result: 18% yield increase for partner AMCOS since 2023. More volume for your contracts.

  2. Specialty Processing – Mbinga
    Focus: Washed, Honey, Natural Arabica
Topics: Selective picking, Brix measurement, controlled fermentation, slow drying on raised beds
Result: Defect rate dropped from 9% to <2%. More 86+ micro-lots for your single origin program.

  3. Business & Quality Training – All Regions
Topics: Understanding cup scores, how quality = price, record keeping, moisture control
Result: Farmers now reject their own under-dried parchment before it reaches us. Saves you time and claims.
